The historic town of Windermere was established in 1889. By 2004, the census totaled the town’s population at about 2,000 people. In 2020, this town maintained its quaint, small-town feel with a small population of approximately 3,500 residents. The Butler Chain of Lakes is considered an unincorporated area of Orange County located just southwest of Orlando.
